Shireen was born in South Africa and started dancing at the age of five. At the age of 12 she was accepted into the Pro-arte School in Pretoria where she completed all her exams in RAD ballet and SADTA Modern Dance. Shireen then moved on to full time training at the Pretoria Technicon where she obtained a diploma specialising in Dance Teaching. After completing her training Shireen went on to dance professionally for the PACT Ballet Company, one of South Africa's leading classical dance companies.
In 1995 she gained her Royal Academy of Dance Teaching Certificate, with distinction, and was made an associate of the South African Dance Teachers Association. In the same year she also studied part time and attained a certificate in the Vaganova Russian Ballet system.
Shireen says "I have always been extremely fortunate to be trained by excellent teachers, and my aim as a dance teacher would be to pass on to my pupils the same knowledge and inspiration that my teachers passed on to me. I hope to instil a love and appreciation for dance in all my students”

Sarah started dancing at the age of 5 and completed exams in NZAMD Jazz (Solo Performance Diploma), Tap, Contemporary and Hip Hop.
In 2005, Sarah moved to Auckland to study at AUT University's Bachelor of Dance Programme, where she was awarded the Hilary Peacocke LeMieux Award upon graduating.
Sarah went on to teach at a number of Dance Schools throughout Auckland and in 2009 became a guest lecturer at AUT for the Bachelor of Dance Programme. In 2011 she gained her NZAMD Teaching Certificate.
Sarah has been part of the teaching team at the Dance Institute since 2014 and prides herself in providing a high standard of dance classes to students of all ages and abilities. She currently teaches our NZAMD Jazz & Contemporary classes in all levels, alongside the Stretch & Strengthening programme, Open Senior Jazz and Contemporary Classes, Pre School Ballet as well as training our Jazz Competition students.

Haylee began her dance journey at the age of 3 studying RAD & BBO Ballet, Jazz, Tap and Contemporary. At the age of 17, Haylee moved to Melbourne Australia to attend Fulltime Ballet School at Dance World 301, where she was awarded Dux for both years of training.
After completing her training Haylee danced professionally in Sydney and Melbourne and in 2001 she moved to London where she danced with the Royal Opera Ballet Company. In 2003 Haylee was appointed principal dancer for the Vienna Festival Ballet.
Haylee joined the Dance Institute teaching team in 2017 and is the Ballet Competition Teacher. She prides herself on being very technical and loves to bring the artistic quality out in her dancers.
